If there were boundaries I believe the author tore them down by keeping an open tone with the audience. The blog has an approachable and honest quality with the images and the writing style. The author provides his thoughts on some of the most inspirational aspects of writing, such as music and traveling.
ReplyDeleteThe text alignment allows viewers to follow the blogger’s story as it cascades down the webpage. The author gives his own thought intertwined with references to some of the most influential songs in music.
The placement of the photos in the blog give a more intimate feeling, and the photos chosen signify the counterculture vibe presented. The photos and the text alternating sides allow for a more capitative read, following the author on their literary journey. I also did enjoy that the author did not have to give any explanation for the photos chosen, allowing the viewers to interpret the images themselves.
By concluding the first entry with a quote by Jack Kerouac it gives the reader a refreshing sense of the author’s inspiration for writing. It made me excited to read the next post and see what story the author will present next.
The only critique that I would suggest for the blog layout itself is maybe find a bolder white or different color text. I love the background picture and I believe it is what gives the blog it’s character, but maybe adding a brighter color to the text will allow for an easier read? I think highlighting the blog title in an alternate color is a good choice as well.
